Longquan gelatin sheets make Middle East debut

A batch of edible gelatin sheets produced in Longquan, a county-level city in Lishui, Zhejiang province, recently departed from Zhejiang Jiadeli Biotechnology for Dubai. This marks the first entry of Lishui-produced edible gelatin into the Middle East market.
Penetrating the high-value Middle East food market is particularly challenging due to its stringent standards. The primary hurdle for Jiadeli was obtaining the mandatory Halal certification, a crucial requirement for products containing animal-derived ingredients.
Lishui Customs provided instrumental support by developing a customized plan for the company. Officers helped clarify complex certification rules for target markets like Egypt and the United Arab Emirates and assisted in selecting authoritative certifying bodies.
Furthermore, they provided hands-on guidance throughout the production process — from raw material sourcing and dedicated production line isolation to sanitation protocols — ensuring full compliance.
To expedite the shipment, Lishui Customs opened a green channel, facilitating steps like advance declaration and appointment-based inspection, which allowed the products to reach shelves promptly.
This achievement follows the company's successful entry into the European Union market earlier this year. Building on this momentum, the firm now plans to expand into Australia and other European markets next year.
An officer from Lishui Customs said this is just the beginning. They will continue to use assistance platforms to help more local specialties meet international standards and reach global consumers.
