The 2026 Shaoxing Bird-Loving Week launch ceremony was held at Jinghu National Urban Wetland Park on April 12.

Shaoxing will launch a series of public welfare activities during the Bird-Loving Week. The Arrival of Birds Ecological Science Exhibition will be held simultaneously at multiple venues, including Shaoxing Art Museum, Guojin Shopping Mall, and the children's playground in Jinghu National Urban Wetland Park on April 18.

The event will feature a photography exhibition, a fun infographic guide, and interactive workshops. The park will host nature-based educational activities for the public, including park birdwatching tours, workshops on how to build birds’ nests, and bird rescue and release programs.

In recent years, Shaoxing has adhered to the principles of ecological priority and green development, improving the wildlife protection system and creating a strong safeguard for birds and other species. Strict actions have been taken against illegal hunting and trading activities, while awareness campaigns, centered around events like "Bird-Loving Week" and "World Wetlands Day", have been conducted to promote conservation values.

The number of recorded bird species in the city has increased from 354 in 2021 to 378 in 2025. Rare species, such as the Chinese merganser and the Yellow-breasted Bunting, have been frequently spotted, serving as evidence of Shaoxing's ecological improvements.
