Construction on a number of new railway lines crossing East China's Zhejiang province has recently made steady progress.
The penetration project on the Hujia No 1 Tunnel along the Hangzhou-Quzhou Railway was completed on May 1, making it the first tunnel along the rail line, which winds around 240 kilometers through Hangzhou West Station, Quzhou West Station, and Jiangshan Station, all located in Zhejiang province.
Construction on bridges along the Suzhou section of the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou Railway was fully launched on May 7. The Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou Railway, measuring 163.8 kilometers in length, will significantly enhance the passenger transport connectivity between Shanghai municipality, Suzhou in Jiangsu province, and Huzhou in Zhejiang province.
Construction on the upper structure of the main body of the 1,787-meter Nanxi River Bridge along the Hangzhou-Wenzhou Railway was recently launched, while the penetration project on the 146.14-meter Guohou Tunnel along the rail line was completed on May 7. The Hangzhou-Wenzhou Railway will become the fastest passenger traffic track between the cities of Hangzhou and Wenzhou in Zhejiang.
Two sections of the Daweili Bridge, the longest along the Huzhou-Hangzhou Railway, were successfully joined together on May 4. The rail line, spanning 137.8 kilometers will pass through Huzhou, Deqing county, Hangzhou, and Tonglu county.
The designed speed at which passenger trains operate on all four aforementioned railways will be 350 kilometers per hour.
