Wenzhou to host IoT convention next month

The second Conference for Internet of Things for Industry and Energy is set to be held in Wenzhou, East China's Zhejiang province from July 9 to 10, the Information Office of the Zhejiang provincial government recently announced at a news conference.

The inaugural edition of the conference was held in Wenzhou from Sep 10 to 13 in 2019, the year prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The major events that will be held during the second conference have been summarized by the organizers as "1+6+1".

The first "1" refers to the Oujiang Summit, which will take place on the morning of July 10 as the opening ceremony of the conference. Among its 800 attendees will be government officials, scholars, representatives from international organizations in relation to industry and energy, as well as managers of well-known enterprises at home and abroad.

The "6" refers to six parallel forums that will be held between July 9 and 10. They are a green energy forum, a forum on the application of digital and smart technologies in the power industry, a smart industry forum, a forum on the "city brain" and "future communities", a forum on IoT leaders, as well as the 8th International Internet of Things and Sensing Technology Summit.

The second "1" refers to the Expo for IoT for Industry and Energy, which will be held from July 9 to 10 at the Chint IoT Sensor Industrial Park in Yueqing, a county-level city under Wenzhou's administration. The exhibition hall, measuring a total 8,610 square meters in area, is divided into 13 zones with separate themes like green energy and digitization-empowered manufacturing.

About 160 experts will deliver speeches or take part in panel talks that are focused on the development trends and frontier technologies in relation to carbon peak and carbon neutrality.
