Founded in 1991 the Huafon Group, located in Ruian – a county-level city administered by Wenzhou in East China's Zhejiang province – is a major industrial concern, which according to its corporate website, in 2020 generated turnover of 43.6 billion yuan ($6.7 billion).

The company, mainly involved in chemical new materials production, has more than 14,000 employees and is one of China's Top 500 enterprises. It is mainly engaged with industries involved in polyurethane, polyamide, degradable plastics, aluminum sheets, strip foil, smart homes, the digital economy, new energy, logistics and finance. 

Huafon has production plants and sales operations in six provinces and cities, as well as in the countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative. It has more than 50 wholly owned and holding companies, including three listed companies and 13 national high and new technology enterprises.

The company's leading products are polyurethane stock solutions, polyurethane resins, spandex filaments, microfiber synthetic leather, adipic acid, cyclohexanone, adiponitrile, adipic diamine, nylon 66, polyester polyol and aluminum foil materials. 

These are sold to nearly 100 countries and regions in the world, making it one of the largest production and marketing enterprises of polyurethane products and materials in China.

By the end of 2020, the company had 393 patents, including 254 invention patents and 135 utility model patents.

It has issued and implemented 145 international, national and industrial standards and has more than 100 international advanced, leading domestic and provincial new product certifications. More than 40 key core technologies have reached the leading international level.
