The news conference issued three kinds of beauty lists containing the people most desired by Ouhai – featuring a list for core technologies, another for top industry professionals and a third outlining positions that urgently need to be filled.

The core technology list – which will attract a municipal subsidy of 59 million yuan ($9.1 million) to underwrite the bonuses of selected new hires – concerns 11 projects in 11 sectors, which have encountered bottlenecks that need breakthroughs.

The category for high-end professionals is a list that identifies 104 positions, which were provided by four local universities and colleges and 52 key enterprises.

In addition, the district government also issued a total of 523 positions being offered by 75 emerging high-tech enterprises with an average annual salary of 86,500 yuan, including 136 positions with an annual salary of more than 100,000 yuan.

During the news conference, the Ouhai district government and Wenzhou University signed an agreement to jointly build the Wenzhou University Carbon Neutrality Technology Innovation Research Institute, to boost the city's sodium-ion battery industry.

Chou Shulei, a professor at Wenzhou University, said that he was deeply impressed with the city's warm welcome to professionals and hoped he could realize his own ambitions in Ouhai and help it develop.
