The dragon boat finals for amateurs of the China's 14th National Games is being held in the co-host city of Wenzhou in East China's Zhejiang province on Sept 22-25.
In the men's 500-meter straight category for 12-person dragon boats, a team from Wenzhou's Cangnan county clocked 2 minutes and 16.127 seconds and won the championship. Teams from Guizhou and Hunan took second and third places, respectively.
A women's team from Zhejiang's Jinhua city failed to keep up with the blistering pace of their rivals and had to settle for fourth place in the women's dragon boat 500-m competition.
Other races were held for 100 m, 200 m and 1,000 m.

It was the first time for Wenzhou to host an event for the National Games.
It was also the first heavyweight competition held by the new Wenzhou Dragon Boat Center since its opening. It is expected that the success will further boost its confidence to hold the dragon boat competition of the Asian Games Hangzhou 2022.
The center is located in the central area of Ouhai district, covering a total land area of 532 mu (35.47 hectares). It was reportedly constructed in line with top international standards and contains a first-class stand and other excellent facilities.
