The event – co-sponsored by the China Writers Association and the Zhejiang government – followed in the wake of China International Online Literature Week that was launched in Wuzhen in Zhejiang on Sept 26.
Exchange meetings, roundtables, summits and various other activities were organized at the conference, which ran to Sept 29.
Participants included online writers, critics, online literature platform operators, as well as cultural industry representatives.
Xu Lei, more commonly known by his nickname Nanpai Sanshu – author of the best-selling novel series The Grave Robbers' Chronicles – gave a speech at the event.
He said that the time had truly arrived for online literature and that Chinese online writers in the new era would be infinitely more recognized than before.
According to media reports, Wenzhou has taken the lead in establishing an online writer's association which currently has more than 150 members.
