Spanning two months, the opera festival will stage classic southern opera performances at local theaters, scenic spots, parks, and squares. Seven opera performances by five opera troupes from the country will be staged at Wenzhou Grand Theatre.

Various activities, including cultural fairs, academic seminars, and competitions, will also be organized during the two-month festival.

The Southern Opera Season is another effort by Wenzhou to create a renowned cultural activity after the Reading Festival and the Citizen Cultural Festival.
