This is the seventh episode of The Developments of Lucheng in Overseas Chinese's Eyes, a bilingual video series that showcases the economic, life and cultural achievements of Lucheng, a district of Wenzhou, Zhejiang province, through the perspectives of overseas Chinese.
In this video, Akmal, a foreign anchor of the Wenzhou Overseas Media Center and Feng Renxi, the person in charge of Wenzhou Binhai Hotel as well as the vice-president of the Zhejiang Overseas Chinese Youth Association explore some foreign restaurants in Wenzhou and share their feelings about the food cultures.
"Though I have not been to these countries, I can learn about their cultures and customs through their food. In the Turkish restaurant, I tried food similar to those from my hometown," Akmal said.
Due to the efforts of overseas Chinese, foods from different countries have in recent years been making their way into Wenzhou, affording local residents with a diverse range of flavors.
"Different food cultures come together in Wenzhou, and various dietary customs are blended here. Overseas Chinese have brought foods from different countries to the city, which not only helped promote the internationalization of this city but also carried out unique cultural exchanges. As the second generation of overseas Chinese, I hope that I can do more for Wenzhou," Feng said.
