Wenzhou in East China's Zhejiang province is calling for intellectual support from across the globe to help local companies solve their bottleneck problems, local media outlets reported on Oct 29.
A batch of 75 projects, with rewards totaling 434.9 million yuan ($68.06 million), were published this time, covering emerging industries like smart equipment, life science, digital economy, new materials, and new energy. The projects are run by city-level high-tech companies, as well as provincial-level scientific and technological SMEs.
Universities and institutes, enterprises, as well as innovative individuals and teams with scientific research capabilities from home and abroad are encouraged to answer the call.
This was the second time that Wenzhou has called for global intellectual support to help its companies. The first batch consisted of 50 projects, with a total reward of 116.8 million yuan.
Capable individuals and teams from domestic cities like Beijing, Shenzhen, and Hangzhou have built cooperative ties with some 30 projects. The local government will organize a signing ceremony next month for some of the projects, which are of great influence, as well as possess strong economic driving effects and wide application areas.
Projects that are recognized as city-level key scientific and technological innovation projects will enjoy various policy benefits. They will also be awarded financial aid of a maximum of 25 percent of their total investment or 5 million yuan.
