The annual gathering of private entrepreneurs in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province kicked off on Oct 31, local media outlets reported.
Managers, operators, and producers who have played active roles in developing the city's private economy attended the event.
As the birthplace of the private economy in China, Wenzhou has always placed emphasis on private entrepreneurs. This is the third year the city is hosting the festival.
Wenzhou is currently home to over 1.2 million private businesses, with enterprises accounting for over 30 percent of the total. It was also among the first to be listed as a demonstration city of the private economy in China.
The event unveiled Wenzhou's efforts over the past three years in following the Two Healthy thought, which refers to the healthy development of China's non-public sector and the healthy growth of those engaged in it.
A blue paper compiled by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences that detailed the Two Healthy thought and Wenzhou's acts and achievements was published on the same day.
The event also called for local private entrepreneurs to carry forward the patriotism observed by older generations and also build up inner cultural confidence so as to follow the new goal of striving to achieve common prosperity in the new era.
Liu Xiaotao, Party secretary of Wenzhou, attended the event and delivered a keynote speech.
