Wenzhou in Zhejiang province recently witnessed the opening of its first clinic that is facilitated with 5G technologies, local media outlets reported.

Operating 24 hours a day, the clinic frees patients with chronic diseases on subsequent visits from repetitive appointments, registration, and queuing as they can have their appeals directly answered on a self-service machine at the clinic.

For example, if patients want to have a prescription filled, they can submit their requests via the machine and a doctor will make a phone call to them to further check their needs. Their medicine will then be prepared and be ready in just a few minutes.

"It's quite convenient as I can fill the prescription within just a couple of minutes. There's no need to visit the township hospital anymore," said a female resident surnamed Wang.

"It's our new way to reduce the outpatient population of hospitals at the township level and higher, hence helping improve their work efficiency," said Pan Yi, director of a community healthcare center in Shanfu town, Lucheng district.

At the other corner of the clinic stands a machine that is ready to help local residents assess their physical fitness, such as blood pressure, height, weight, and body fat rate, inviting them for regular body checks and aiming to further enhance their body management awareness.
