Wenzhou elements will continue to be showcased at the ongoing fourth China International Import Expo, which is running in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10, local media outlets reported.

A total of 876 companies with over 2,000 staff members have applied to take part in the event, of which four foreign companies invested in by Wenzhou-born businesspeople will bring overseas commodities to the exhibition, such as Spanish ham, French wine, and Greek saffron.

La Encina Seleccion Sl., a foreign trade company that was invested in by Wenzhou businesspeople, has brought Spanish Iberian ham to past CIIE events, which have proven to be popular. The company brought in 500 kilograms of Iberian ham to the first CIIE event and was sold out in six days, much faster than its projections of half a year.

Wenzhou's two national intangible cultural heritage items Boxwood carving and Wenzhou-style lacquer craft, as well as the time-honored brand of braised food will also be showcased in the on-site show, bringing the city's intangible cultural heritage items and cuisines to the world.

This year's event has welcomed the participation of  nearly 3,000 exhibitors from 127 countries and regions. The total exhibition area has also been further expanded to 366,000 square meters.
