Wenzhou pilots innovative development of service industry

Two districts and one county in Wenzhou were recently listed as the first ones in Zhejiang province to pilot the innovative development of the service industry, local media outlets reported.

Ouhai district will dedicate a 3.5-square-kilometer area to life sciences. This area will include a research park for future biomedical technology, an incubation center for life science innovation, a service park for high-end digital medicare, a development zone for the pharmaceutical industry, and an area promoting low-carbon lives.

The zone in Wencheng county, which is located near mountains and rivers, will span 2.65 sq km and be focused on the innovative development of industries such as digital culture and tourism, health-keeping, and trade with overseas Chinese. It will strive to become a model not only in Zhejiang province but also in the Yangtze River Delta region.

The innovative development zone in Lucheng district will focus on modern finance.  Located in the Binjiang CBD, this 2.42-sq-km area will take advantage of the CBD's financial cluster and diversify its strength in eight fields like digital finance, wealth management, private finance, inclusive finance, science and technology finance, green finance, insurance services, and financial factor market.
