Construction on the general airport in Taishun, a county under the administration of Wenzhou, East China's Zhejiang province that boasts a high forest coverage rate and an enchanting natural environment, is speeding up, local media outlets reported.
As the first general airport in southern Zhejiang province, the airport has attracted 550 million yuan ($86.35 million) in investment. It will be comprised of a runway, a terminal, a hangar, and a parking apron on a 48-hectare field.
In addition to undertaking passenger and cargo transportation, the new airport will also undertake specialized tasks like official business trips, air tourism, air performances, aerial photography, aerial mapping, as well as agricultural and forestry spraying.
It will be located in the Nanyuan residential community of Luoyang town, which is only five kilometers away from the county and highway exit.
According to the plan for the development of Wenzhou's civil aviation industry in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period, the city will build seven general airports in Lucheng district, Yueqing, as well as the counties of Wencheng, Cangnan, Taishun, Yongjia, and Pingyang.
