The 7th Conference for Wenzhou Natives in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao was held in Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong province, on Dec 6, local media outlets reported.
Wenzhou business representatives, representatives of Chinese and foreign chambers of commerce, as well as economic experts and scholars attended the conference to discuss development opportunities under the new business environment.
Officials from Wenzhou extended greetings to Wenzhou natives working and living in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). They spoke highly of Wenzhou natives' pioneering spirit in seeking innovation and starting up businesses, as well as expressed hope that they can grasp new development opportunities and strive to achieve new highs in their career.
The 2021 Annual Meeting of the Guangzhou Wenzhou Chamber of Commerce was held on the same day. The chamber inked cooperative agreements with Hurun Report, Sinolight Corporation, and the South China Industrial Technology Research Institute of Zhejiang University.
Statistics show that there are currently nearly 300,000 Wenzhou natives working and living in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao GBA. The total annual output value of enterprises run by Wenzhou businesspeople in the region has reached 100 billion yuan ($15.68 billion).
