A feature themed on "Longwan, A Promising New Center in Wenzhou" went online at chinadaily.com.cn on Jan 7, in a bid to inject new vigor into presenting the Longwan district – located in Wenzhou city in East China's Zhejiang province – to the world.
The initiative is seen as a move to raise the profile of the district and create more international publicity and excitement about Longwan's development.
Backed by the publicity department of the CPC Longwan District Committee and chinadaily.com.cn, the feature is divided into five main sections – simply named About, Latest, Videos & Photos, Dynamic Longwan, Travel & Culture.
It focuses on displaying the development highlights the district has achieved in its economy, social development, sci-tech innovation, tourism and culture – showcasing Longwan's image as an elegant city of mountains and sea, a burgeoning city of innovation and a city suitable for living and working in the future.
The feature aims to help connect the city with international audiences, spreading the word about Longwan abroad. Plans are for more stories about the place to be told through the platform.
