They learned how to make jaozi, or rice dumplings, and create Spring Festival decorations, including writing the fu character, which means "good luck" in Chinese.
More than 200 international students at the university from over 70 countries including Zimbabwe, Ethiopia and Tanzania have opted to spend the holiday in Wenzhou.
That same day, six expats, including four teachers at the Yueqing International Foreign Language School, were invited to experience some traditional customs, including making songgao, or steamed rice cakes, and creating figurines with rice flour in Yueqing, a county-level city in Wenzhou, to celebrate the New Year.
