With the 200-day countdown to the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 officially starting at 20:00 on Feb 21, Wenzhou, a co-host city of the major sporting event, marked the day with various celebrations.
At the Wenzhou Sports Center Stadium in Lucheng district, which will host football matches in September, children dressed in soccer suits put on various talent shows to express their fondness for the sport.
At the Wenzhou Olympic Sports Center in Longwan district, lion and dragon dancing shows and group rhythmic gymnastics heated up the stadium with vigor and vitality.
At the Wenzhou Dragon Boat Center in Ouhai district, the top dragon boat venue in Asia, 24 students from the Ouhai district foreign language school tried rolling a dragon boat on land in modified version of the popular water sport.
Wenzhou will also host a teenager speech contest themed on the Asian Games. Auditions will run from Feb 21 to March 21.
