Alex Absolute, a British anchor who grew up in the countryside of Bristol, the United Kingdom and has been living and working in Wenzhou, East China's Zhejiang province for nine years, has a special fondness for the countryside.
Absolute cherishes the opportunities to visit rural areas in Wenzhou and learn the dialects of the locals. As a Chinese cultural enthusiast, Absolute is fluent in Mandarin and is always eager to learn more Wenzhou dialects.
In this episode, Absolute visits Shanfu town in Lucheng district, where he learns about the term jiangli, which in Wenzhou dialect means "diligence". He also explores the stories of hardworking local residents who aspire to lead better lives.
