The recruitment of volunteers for the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 is currently taking place in Wenzhou, local media outlets reported.
The 3,213 college students who took part in the first round of offline interviews are primarily from local higher learning institutions such as Wenzhou University, Wenzhou Medical University, Wenzhou University of Technology, Wenzhou Polytechnic, Wenzhou Vocational College of Science and Technology, and Zhejiang College of Security Technology.
Selected students will serve at three sporting venues in Wenzhou – the Wenzhou Dragon Boat Center, the Wenzhou Sports Center, and the Wenzhou Olympic Sports Center – which will host dragon boat and football group competitions during the 19th Asian Games from Sept 10 to 25.
The selected individuals will learn of their roles in June before attending various training sessions.
A total of 13,200 candidates from all walks of life in Wenzhou have applied to be volunteers during the Games.
The recruitment of another batch of volunteers who will help with the city's urban operations during the Games will commence soon.
