The Wenzhou Transportation Group recently announced that it will open three new bus lines to meet the large inflow of visitors during the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 in September, local media outlets reported.
Three urban bus lines and nine county bus lines will also be optimized for the Games. A total of 33 bus lines are currently running around the three sporting venues for the Asian Games in Wenzhou – the Wenzhou Dragon Boat Center, Wenzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium, and Wenzhou Sports Center Stadium.
The group also announced that the names of bus stations will be announced in English in the near future, in addition to the current Chinese and Wenzhou dialect broadcasts. The length of announcements will be limited to 30 seconds, five seconds longer than the current limit.
The English announcements are expected to help the city better serve foreign guests and athletes during the Games.
The group is planning to complete English announcement tests on 100 bus lines with relatively large passenger flows before the end of March and all 265 bus lines in urban Wenzhou before the end of April.
Wenzhou will host the dragon boat and men's and women's football group matches of the Asian Games in September.
