Wenzhou lawmakers, political advisors commence annual meetings

Deputies to the Wenzhou Municipal People's Congress and members of the CPPCC Wenzhou Municipal Committee have gathered to attend the annual two sessions in Wenzhou, local media outlets reported.

Chen Xingliang, a deputy reappointed to the Wenzhou Municipal People's Congress and deputy director of the Zhejiang Guangzhengda Law Firm, admitted that he "dared not slack off for even a day" over the past five years and has submitted 26 proposals covering urban management and public health.

"I will submit a motion on the development of hollow villages in rural areas, calling on all villages to improve their independent innovation capacity, establish intellectual and technological poverty alleviation mechanisms, and take the road of rural vitalization and common prosperity," Chen said.

Huang Hui, Party secretary of Wenzhou Experimental Middle School Education Group, was thrilled at being elected a deputy to the congress. She submitted a motion on upgrading the Jiushan Sports Center, an important place for mass fitness activities and sports meetings held by primary and secondary schools in Lucheng district.

Zhang Zhiming, a member of the CPPCC Wenzhou Municipal Committee and general manager of Ruipu Energy Co, said he has seen the efforts the city has been making to help local manufacturers in recent years and will voice his support for the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry.

The first session of the 12th CPPCC Wenzhou Municipal Committee will be held from April 8 to 11, while the first session of the 14th Wenzhou Municipal People's Congress will be held from April 9 to 12.
