Upgrading and renovation is underway at the Wenzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium to ensure the smooth running of football group matches for the 19th Asian Games, local media outlets reported.

Wei Zhongyan, director of the operation team, said that by the end of March, they had completed the upgrading and renovation of over 100 corners covering nearly 30,000 square meters in or around the venue.

"We have doubled the number of workers for holistic improvement and the project cost roughly 10 million yuan ($1.54 million)," Wei said.

Wei also said that athletes' locker rooms, VIP lounges, and press rooms have been upgraded with details strictly in line with the original layout, including a whole row of lockers installed in athletes' locker rooms and sofas, tea tables and carpets placed in VIP lounges.

"All the furniture is made of professional environmentally-friendly paint and has been tested for volatile organic compounds before delivery, ensuring the green, safe and efficient operation of the venue," Wei said.
