Wenzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, opened a special child-friendly bus line on June 1 in celebration of International Children's Day.

The 20.4-kilometer bus line covers 42 stations. A total of 18 buses, including two themed ones, will be put into operation on the line.

The child-friendly bus line starts from the Xinyu Terminal Station and ends at the Jiangfeng Road Terminal Station. It passes various child-friendly places, including the Wenzhou Women and Children Activity Center, Wushu Museum, Xie Lingyun Memorial Hall, Wenzhou Children's Library, Ma'anchi Primary School, Bailuzhou Park, and Wenzhou Mathematics Hall of Fame.

Children are the future of every family and nation, and cultivating a child-friendly society is of utmost importance. The 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) has placed an increased focus on caring for youth. The China Children's Development Plan (2021-30) has also raised the goal of building child-friendly cities and communities and "seeing the world at a one-meter level."

Wenzhou has been making efforts to make the city more child-friendly, especially to ensure the safety of children on city roads.
