Wenzhou, a coastal city in East China's Zhejiang province, opened its fourth international air cargo route to Osaka, Japan on June 10, local media outlets reported.
The flight, which is scheduled to run six times a week, takes off from the Wenzhou Airport at 7:40 am and arrives at the Kansai International Airport in Osaka at 10:05. It is operated by SF Airlines, the first time for the logistics giant to manage international flights from Wenzhou, and uses Boeing 737-3/400 all-cargo aircraft. A total of 15 metric tons, or about 120 cubic meters of cargo, can be carried per trip.
The flight is expected to further facilitate the normalization of Wenzhou-Japanese trade of e-commerce products, high value-added goods, characteristic high-quality fresh aquatic products, and seafood.
Wenzhou and Japan have enjoyed frequent economic exchanges in recent years.
Statistics show that in 2021, trade between the two sides reached 241.12 billion yuan ($35.88 billion), growing 55 percent year on year. In the first four months of this year, the value of Wenzhou's exports to Japan reached 920 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.0 percent. The top five kinds of products exported to Japan were shoes, glasses and their component parts, plastics, clothing and accessories, and travel goods and bags.
