Wenzhou shone at the 15th Communist Party of China Zhejiang Provincial Congress, which took place at the Great Hall of the People in Zhejiang from June 20 to 22, local media outlets reported.

Wenzhou, as the southern gate of the Yangtze River Delta region, plays an important role in economic and social development in Zhejiang province.

The city was mentioned at the CPC congress report for the first time as an area to be cultivated into a pioneering city in Zhejiang, forging ahead with Hangzhou, Ningbo, and Jinhua-Yiwu.

To achieve this goal, the CPC congress report has also proposed fully supporting Wenzhou in becoming a talent hub.

Wenzhou boasts an open working environment and a dynamic industrial layout. The city has hosted the World Youth Scientist Summit for three consecutive years and twelve new energy projects with a total investment of 125.8 billion yuan ($18.79 billion) has been built in Wenzhou, focusing on the whole industrial chain of nuclear energy, wind energy, photovoltaic power, hydro power, hydrogen storage, and energy storage.

"We will focus on developing clusters for traditional pillar industries and emerging leading industries, improve the business environment, spur innovation and entrepreneurship in the private sector, and protect and develop our culture," said Wenzhou delegates to the congress.
