In this video, Johnny, an American anchor from the Wenzhou Overseas Media Center, will try his hands at Wenzhou-style Kungfu.

As a provincial-level intangible cultural heritage item, Wenzhou-style Kungfu is characterized by its strength and power.

At the Yongjia Ouqu Martial Arts Center, Johnny learned from Wu Xiang, a Chinese martial arts expert, and was immersed in Wenzhou-style Kungfu.

"It was my first experience with real Chinese martial arts. Whether you are an apprentice or a master, it seems to give you inner peace and make you invincible," Johnny said.

The time-honored Wenzhou-style Kungfu is known as the mother of Wenzhou Martial Arts. It was formerly known as Boat Boxing, as ancient Wenzhou people usually practiced it on small boats. The martial art played a large role in the battle against the Japanese invasion in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Nowadays, the Wenzhou people's entrepreneurial spirit – braving difficulties, hardships, and fatigue – is a manifestation of their martial spirit.
