Ou Kiln is a famous kiln that originated in Wenzhou in ancient times. Poets once wrote "The selected exquisite porcelain and pottery wares are all from kilns in Dong'ou (the ancient name of Wenzhou)", to praise the Ou Kiln and Ou Porcelain.
In this video, Alexandra Dybrynina, chief representative of a US company in Wenzhou who came to work in the city five years ago, will take us on an exploration of Ou Porcelain.
Chen Jingwei, a maker of Ou Porcelain, an municipal intangible cultural heritage item, introduced Dybrynina to the history and development of the art.
"Modern Ou Porcelain has carried forward the traditional style of focusing on tea sets and created various categories and designs, such as coffee cups calcinated with Wenzhou dialect ," Chen said.
Dybrynina also tried her hands at making a porcelain ware, experiencing clay modeling, air drying to glaze, and firing at a high temperature.
"I'm more and more fascinated by the porcelain, hoping that more people can learn about through the video," Dybrynina said.
