The coastal city of Wenzhou in East China's Zhejiang province recently published a five-year plan (2022-26) on accelerating the innovative development of its new energy industry, local media outlets reported.
In the next five years, Wenzhou will focus on clean energy, energy storage, smart grids, and new energy vehicles. It will also strive to realize clean energy expansion, scientific and technological innovation, industrial foundation reengineering, and the integrative application of various industries and hopes to see over 100 billion yuan ($14.92 billion) in investment in related projects.
According to the plan, Wenzhou plans to expand its new energy industry to a total value of 250 billion yuan by 2026.
To achieve this goal, Wenzhou has set several small targets, including cultivating more than four enterprises worth over 10 billion yuan each and building two new industrial platforms valued at over 100 billion yuan each – one in Rui'an city that focuses on key parts of intelligent automobiles and the other in Yueqing city that focuses on internet of things for intelligent power.
Wenzhou also plans to increase its number of scientific and technological platforms rated at the provincial level or higher to at least 20 by 2026. It will strive to attract 20 and establish 10 key projects every year.
