Rui'an, a county-level city administered by Wenzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, recently held an online cultural class with Chinese children living in Florence, Italy, local media outlets reported.

The class, which aimed to provide children living overseas with an immersive exploration of the Rui'an Museum, invited Lu Jiarui, anchor of the Rui'an Convergence Media Center, and Lin Sisi, vice-curator of the Rui'an Museum, to teach the history, culture and stories behind the cultural relics to children.

The children also learned to imitate the copper bobweight, the most valuable treasure at the museum, from Lin Qian, an art teacher at Anyang Middle School.

A student said she felt a little homesick after seeing so many museum collections and wanted to return to China in the near future. Another student said she was proud of the extensive history of Rui'an and of being a Ruian native.

The Rui'an Museum currently has a rich collection of cultural relics, including more than 700 national precious cultural relics, preserving the historical and cultural memories of Rui'an.

The Rui'an Overseas Chinese Children Education Center regularly organizes cultural classes to teach the children of Rui'an natives living overseas about their hometown and strengthen their connection to it.
