The Wenzhou Consumer Rights Protection Commission announced a list of 30 souvenirs for the year 2022 on July 13, local media outlets reported.
This is the third time Wenzhou has released such a list, with 115 souvenirs being recognized for their distinctive Wenzhou characteristics, 14 gaining provincial recognition, and four winning praise from the Yangtze River Delta region.
The 30 souvenirs, selected from 136 candidates, mainly involved Wenzhou's time-honored catering culture and diverse array of intangible cultural heritage items.

For example, ou gan, a kind of tangerine unique to Wenzhou, which has a thick gold skin, few seeds, and can be preserved for a long time, is also enjoyed by locals, especially senior citizens, and is often honey brewed and dried to be eaten as a snack.
Qiaodun Mooncakes, which are named after Qiaodun town in Cangnan county, Wenzhou, have been handed down from migrating Fujian residents since the late Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and are known for their rich ingredients, such as fine flour, peanut, sesame, longan, griskin, wax melon sugar, shelled melon seeds, red melon, green onion, and preserved fruit, as well their complicated preparation process.
Ou embroidery is a national intangible cultural heritage item of Wenzhou. The Ou embroidery music box, which is made of beech wood and combines handmade Ou embroidery pieces, is an embodiment of both dynamic and static beauty.
