Academicians and experts in the field of new materials and new energy gathered in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province on July 17 to discuss technological research and industrial upgrading with the goal of peaking carbon dioxide emissions and achieving carbon neutralization.
The day also witnessed the release of the first impact factor of the academic journal Carbon Energy and the publishing of Wenzhou University's academic journal Carbon Neutralization.
Carbon Energy was jointly run by WZU and John Wiley and Sons Inc, a world leading publishing house. The journal performed well in the evaluation conducted by the 2022 Journal Citation Report on 21,430 high-end scientific and technical journals from more than 80 countries and regions.
Agreements on building a China (Wenzhou) Double Carbon Science and Technology Innovation Port as well as a China (Wenzhou) Double Carbon Laboratory were also signed that day.
Both a result of cooperation between the Wenzhou municipal government, Ouhai district government, and WZU, the port and the lab aim to cultivate a number of high-yield double carbon industries in Wenzhou, such as new energy materials and equipment, pan-semiconductors, energy conservation, environmental protection, low-carbon shoes and clothing, and carbon finance.
