Wenzhou holds annual Taiwan Cooperation Week

The annual Taiwan Cooperation Week started in Wenzhou, a coastal city in East China's Zhejiang province, on July 21, local media outlets reported.

Now in its eighth year, this year's event attracted a number of top Taiwan businesspeople and enterprises to discuss the construction of a common prosperity demonstration zone, the establishment of a cross-Straits health industrial park, and entrepreneurship and innovation among Taiwan youth.

Many Taiwan businesspeople have expressed intent to cooperate during the event.

A representative from the Water God project of Want Want Group said that the group's new investment project in Wencheng county, Wenzhou is expected to be completed and put into operation in the second half of next year.

Founder of Cimic Group in Taiwan, who intended to make some investments in Wenzhou, said he was looking forward to cooperating with Wenzhou in the fields of health care, culture and education.

Honorary chairman of the Association of Taiwan Investment Enterprises on the Mainland also called on Taiwan businesspeople to take an active role in the building of the common prosperity demonstration zone and to pursue cooperation.

Wenzhou is one of the cities where the Chinese mainland and Taiwan have enjoyed the closest economic and trade exchanges and cooperation. In recent years, the city has rolled out a series of policies and services to help Taiwan businesspeople achieve high-quality development.
