This August marks the three-year anniversary of Longgang, which is governed by Wenzhou in East China's Zhejiang province, being approved as the country's first city transformed from a town and piloting the national urbanization reform.
Breaking free from institutional restraints and improving the efficiency of government departments was a highlight of Longgang's reforms in these years.
The Longgang economic development bureau, for example, has rearranged the responsibilities of different government departments and enabled them to respond to enterprises' needs in a more accurate and efficient manner.
Zhejiang Qiangmeng Industry Co, a "little giant" enterprise with expertise in the development and production of polyester films, has greatly benefited from increased efficiency in government affairs.
"The integrated services offered by the Longgang government helped us smoothly manage our application for the honorary title of 'little giant' high-tech enterprise and save a lot of time," said Yi Yongdong, deputy general manager of the enterprise.
"We can provide enterprises with integrated services such as the establishment of projects, financing, technological transformation, cultivation and listing," said an official from the Longgang economic development bureau.
