The "Tell China's Stories" contest, a campaign encouraging people to use their works to spread stories about China and Chinese culture around the world, started to collect works in Wenzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, on Aug 12.

Sponsored by the China International Communications Group, this year's event will include a series of competitions on themes such as beautiful countryside, traditional Chinese medicine, and the Belt and Road Initiative.

Two special competitions, namely the Youth English Video Creation Contest and the Youth "Tell China's Stories" Creative Programming Contest, which were specially launched for young people last year, will continue to be held.

According to the organizing committee, entries for the Wenzhou section contest are expected to tell the stories of people's happy lives, the city's social development, rural revitalization, and cultural revival. The collection will run until Oct 31.

It is the second time Wenzhou has hosted a branch contest of the "Tell China's Stories". In the 2021 edition, eight works from Wenzhou won one top prizes, one first prize and six third prizes. Wenzhou was also the only prefecture-level city to host a branch contest.

A practice base of the "Tell China's Stories" contest was also launched in Wenzhou, aiming to further boost people's interest in telling stories of China spontaneously and help the world to better understand China.
