Over the past 10 years, the GDP of Rui'an in East China's Zhejiang province increased from 55.9 billion yuan ($7.95 billion) to 114.9 billion yuan, making it the 7th county-level city in the province to register a GDP of over 100 billion yuan.
Seizing the opportunities brought about by economic transformation and sci-tech innovation, Rui'an has constantly increased investment in technological transformation and adjusted its industrial structure.
The city has also linked new platforms with new types of business, fostered new technologies, industries and models, and steered emerging industrial clusters such as the digital economy, new-energy vehicles and new materials toward rapid development.
Rui'an has also established 25 industry-university-research platforms, including the innovation base of the China Society of Automotive Engineering, and gradually formed an innovation ecology featuring a concentration of high-end elements in the independent innovation zone, frontier exchanges at science and innovation conferences, science and technology incubation at the Grand Corridor, industry acceleration in the high-tech zone, and sci-tech achievements enjoyed by the whole city.
