Yueqing's development over the past decade can be measured in six categories, said Xu Jianbing, Party secretary of the city, at a press conference on Sept 16.
Yueqing has always prioritized high-quality development and realized a huge increase in its overall strength.
For example, the city's GDP increased by 140 percent to 143.34 billion yuan ($20.31 billion) from 2012 to 2021. Its fiscal revenue has almost doubled from 9.16 billion yuan to 16.69 billion yuan. Retail sales of consumer goods also increased by 176 percent from 21.07 billion yuan to 58.09 billion yuan.
Moreover, the total industrial output value of Yueqing has exceeded 200 billion yuan, and the number of market players grew to 200,000, of which roughly 300 have realized a market value of over 100 million yuan.
As the only county administered by Wenzhou to make the list of the first innovation-driven counties in China this August, Yueqing has viewed scientific and technological innovation as its major driving force and developed a variety of national high-end research centers, laboratories, incubators, and industrial parks.
In terms of people's well-being, the per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents in Yueqing grew from 37,920 yuan and 17,454 yuan in 2012 to 73,287 yuan and 41,991 yuan, year-on-year increases of 7.6 percent and 10.2 percent, respectively.
