Wenzhou in East China's Zhejiang province recently launched a three-year action plan from 2022 to 2024 to boost the high-quality development of its cross-border e-commerce industry.
According to the plan, Wenzhou is expected to see the overall capacity of its cross-border e-commerce pilot zone rank in the top 20 in China by 2024. The annual trade value of its cross-border e-commerce industry is also expected to surpass 95 billion yuan ($13.13 billion) by then, an average annual rise of 40 percent.
The plan states that Wenzhou will strive to explore new development potential for imports and exports, such as enhancing the digital governance of cross-border e-commerce, boosting digital transformation, expanding business markets, and establishing an integrated online service platform.
The plan also states that Wenzhou will cultivate a variety of cross-border e-commerce talent, service providers, and market entities, including cultivating 10,000 professionals, establishing 10 provincial industrial parks, creating 15 new brands, and fostering 40 renowned enterprises.
Wenzhou will also strengthen the tenacity of logistics warehousing, ensure stable and smooth supply chains, infuse new impetus into public services, deepen regional cooperation, optimize supervision services, and enhance the handling capacity of ports and overseas warehouses.
