Wenzhou, China's entrepreneurial powerhouse, hailed the fourth Private Enterprise Day on Nov 1. The day is meant to celebrate entrepreneurs and people in the private sector, local media outlets reported.
Wenzhou is considered the origin of China's private economy, and entrepreneurs have been praised by the public and created the "Wenzhou Model" that once impressed the world.
Local officials spoke highly of efforts made by people in the private sector over the past year and expressed their excitement at the positive tone of the report of the 20th CPC National Congress.
"The report has made many new and important revelations on strengthening and expanding the private economy and building confidence in private enterprises and entrepreneurs. We are thrilled and greatly motivated. The private sector is expected to enter a new chapter," said Liu Xiaotao, Party secretary of Wenzhou.
Private enterprises that have been listed among the Top 500 Chinese Private Enterprises were awarded certificates at the event. The day also saw the release of appraisal standards for the top 100 private enterprises in Wenzhou.
