Some 400 runners raced among mountains and villages in Taishun county, Wenzhou on Oct 30 after the resumption of cross-country racing.

In addition to enjoying a good sweat, racers were also treated to natural landscapes, historical landmarks, and Red tourism scenic spots.

Taishun's ancient villages, bridges, pavilions, canyons, waterfalls and terraced fields impressed runners, while dragon dances, puppetry, drum shows, and other intangible cultural heritage items offered a peek into the country's time-honored culture and history.

What's more, Red tourism sites in Taishun, from the revolutionary site in Luli village to the former office of Liu Ying and Su Yu, showed runners the unremitting spirit their ancestors.

The race was for the first time approved by the International Trail Running Association, and runners in the 25-kilometer and 50-kilometer events can earn one and two points, respectively.

The event was directed by the Zhejiang provincial marathon and road running association and Wenzhou sports bureau and organized by the Taishun people's government.
