The fourth Wenzhou International Import Expo opened in the eastern Chinese coastal city on Nov 17 as scheduled by bringing together some 200 exhibitors with nearly 1,000 types of goods from 30 countries and regions across the world.

Liu Xiaotao, Party secretary of Wenzhou, addressed the opening of the event. Diplomatic envoys from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Iran, Canada, and Hungary to China were also in attendance.

Liu said that Wenzhou is always open to new development patterns and he hopes that exhibitions and conventions can help bring new development vitality to the city. He also looks forward to diplomatic envoys playing positive roles in connecting international exhibitors and Wenzhou businesspeople.

Canada is the guest of honor this year, and the North American country has led a delegation of 20 enterprises and 29 brands to showcase its national culture, tourism attractions, and competitive industries.

Pavilions on helping people live better lives will be a highlight of the expo, covering cosmetics, mother and baby products, imported food and beverages, imported wine, daily necessities, automobiles, business jets, parachute gliders, and yachts.

The expo was sponsored by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce and Wenzhou municipal government and undertaken by the Wenzhou commerce bureau. It complements the China International Import Expo in Shanghai, echoing CIIE's growing influence across the world.
