A flight carrying 170 passengers departed from the Wenzhou International Airport in Longwan district for Milan, Italy on Nov 28, local media outlets reported.
The round-trip flight is scheduled to depart Wenzhou at 12:40 pm every Monday and arrive in Milan at 6:55 pm local time, and then return at 8:55 pm Milan time and reach Wenzhou at 3:35 pm on Tuesday.
The flight, numbered CA837 and operated by Airbus A330, is the second international passenger route to open at the airport this year. It is also the first Wenzhou-Europe flight run by Air China.
Located in northern Italy, Milan is the European country's second largest city and a major transportation hub connecting the Mediterranean Sea and Central Europe.
As Italy is home to large groups of overseas Chinese, people have long been calling for the opening of new European flights to help them visit home and do business. The new shuttle flight is expected to offer a convenient and efficient channel between Wenzhou, its surrounding areas, and Europe.
