Enterprises of Wenzhou city in East China's Zhejiang province have explored business opportunities at the ongoing 13th China (United Arab Emirates) Trade Fair in Dubai.
Led by the city's bureau of commerce, a total of 45 enterprises from the Wenzhou city attend the trade fair, the largest national exposition of China in Dubai with an exhibition area of 48,000 square meters.
On the first day of the trade fair on Dec 19, the Wenzhou enterprises signed about 20 contracts of intention worth $2 million, according to the incomplete statistics.
More than 800 exhibitors of nearly 500 enterprises from 15 provinces and municipalities in China also attended the trade fair, which is reported to be the largest one of its kind with the largest number of participants from Chinese enterprises since the start of COVID-19 pandemic. It is expected to attract more than 50,000 buyers from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Yemen, Oman and other countries.
The UAE is one of the important countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. Its market has spread to six Gulf countries, seven West Asian countries, Africa and southern European countries.
Dubai is a major importer of low-voltage electrical appliances, hardware, silk fabrics and lady's bags produced by Wenzhou companies. From January to October, the city's exports to the UAE increased by 53 percent.
