A rail-sea intermodal train carrying 24 TEUS of goods departed from Wenzhou in East China's Zhejiang province on Dec 29 and will be shipped to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in four days, local media outlets reported.

The goods took a 770-kilometer-long rail journey from Nanchang city in East China's Jiangxi province to Yueqing Bay in Wenzhou.

It was the first time Wenzhou's rail-sea intermodal train services connected with a city outside Zhejiang province.

Wenzhou dispatched its first rail-sea intermodal train on July 29, 2021. With a frequency of three to four trains per week, the service has handled over 4,800 TEUs of goods and connects with Southeast Asian countries.

Wenzhou has opened direct cargo flights to 11 countries, including Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines and Russia. Its near-sea shipping network has also covered major ports in Kaohsiung, Keelung, Ho Chi Minh City, Lam Chabang, Jakarta, Surabaya, Makassar, and Manila.
