Yongjia county in Wenzhou, East China's Zhejiang province recently established sister city ties with Castellamonte, a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Turin, Italy, local media outlets reported.

The two sides are both famed for their history in making ceramics, with Yongjia playing a key role in China's ceramic-making history and Castellamonte widely known for handmade artistic ceramics.

The two sides agreed to carry out out people-to-people exchanges, expanding cooperation in trade, culture, art and tourism, and seek more common ground for mutual benefits.

Yongjia boasts a deep pool of historical and cultural heritages, represented by boxwood carving, Ou Kiln and Kunqu Opera. The Ou Kiln, in particular, is an important symbol of the county's several-thousand-year-old ceramics history.

Castellamonte has hosted the annual Ceramics Exhibition 61 times.
