Wenzhou Xintai New Materials Stock Co in Wenzhou, East China's Zhejiang province has independently developed environmentally friendly pest glue traps, which currently command more than 80 percent of the market share in China.
The traps, partly made from straws, biodegrade gradually after being used for six months and cause no pollution to soil and air, according to an executive at Xintai. The yellow pads won't fade in the first six months even if exposed to strong sunlight or storms.
The product can be used in orchards, crop fields, and tobacco and tea plantations. They are as effective as pesticides and will not leave behind residues in crops nor harm animals or humans.
Established in 2014, Xintai is a national-level high-tech company that specializes in developing, producing, and selling macromolecular materials. Its products are used in a wide range of sectors including agriculture, new energy, printing, packaging, construction, electron optics, and biomedicine.
The company will focus on developing fire-retardant and insulating functional materials used in smartphones, computers, displays and new energy vehicles in the future, said the executive from Xintai.
