The dates for competitions in the Wenzhou region of the Hangzhou Asian Games have been confirmed, local media outlets reported on March 8.
The 19th Asian Games will be held in Hangzhou from Sept 23 to Oct 8, with Wenzhou hosting all of the dragon boat events and some of the football group matches and knockout games.
The dragon boat races will take place at the Wenzhou Dragon Boat Sports Center, with daily morning races from Oct 4 to 6, with a total of six gold medals for the men's and women's 200-meter, 500-meter, and 1,000-meter races on offer.
The football games will be held from Sept 19 to Oct 1, with the men's group match days set for Sept 19, 21 and 23 and the women's group matches set for Sept 25, 27 and 29.
The men's round of 16 will take place on Sept 26, while the women's quarterfinals will be on Oct 1. The matches will be held at the Wenzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium and the Wenzhou Sports Center Stadium. There will be eight men's teams and six women's teams, with a total of approximately 406 participants. The teams will be drawn into groups after the third round of competition registration in late May.
