With the optimization of pandemic response measures, the flow of people in Wenzhou in East China's Zhejiang province has increased markedly, local media reported.
According to statistics, since the middle of February, the overall passenger flow of the Line S1 urban rail transit average around 30,000 trips from Monday to Thursday, while the increase in passenger flow from Friday to Sunday is even more significant, with an overall average of 37,000 trips per day, almost equal to the average daily passenger flow during the National Day holiday in 2022. To date, the maximum daily passenger flow in 2023 reached 41,100 trips.
The passenger flow of bullet trains at the Wenzhou South Railway Station has also been steadily increasing recently. Since March, the daily passenger flow in and out of the station has remained between 38,000 to 41,000 trips, while during the weekends, the number reaches around 40,000, an increase of 10 percent compared with the same period in 2019.
Wenzhou Longwan International Airport authorities said that the current passenger flow has steadily increased, and the upcoming summer and autumn seasons are expected to see even more traffic. From March 26 to Oct 28, domestic passenger flights are expected to reach 2,390 per week, with an average of 341 per day.
Traffic flow on highways has also increased. At Panqiao Toll Station, which is the exit of Wenzhou ring expressway, the number of inbound vehicles reached 127,800 in February, a year-on-year increase of 26.89 percent, while the number of outbound vehicles was about 118,000, up 13.5 percent year-on-year.
